Durbar Square, Kathmandu, Nepal, May 2017, almost two years after the deadly earthquake in 2015 named the Gorkha earthquake that killed about 9,OOO people. I had been documenting my main project "Tribe Done Gone" for 1 month straight and they daily adventures of India for another month, until I finally arrived in Kathmandu. There was nothing interesting to photograph about the temple ruins at Durban Square, only documenting the obvious adding date and place. It was time for an experiment. In the past, I've learned that other senses can replace the other or that new senses can be created. We only see the world for what it is because of the senses we've got. According to Neil Harrison, a Spanish "cyborg artist' you can design a unique sense that is related to your interest or to your curiosity. I closed my eyes and placed the camera in front of my belly as it felt like the best place to make use of "feeling' , allowing another way to perceive. The series ' Tremors of Gorkha" shows the result of the replacing sense in combination with a device that is created to record what you see. In post production I enhanced the photograph. The pictures are not manipulated, only retouched and vignetted where needed and balanced out.
